Florida Top Bar Hives
About us
We are proud members of the
American Honey Bee Rescue Alliance
Treasure Coast Beekeepers Association

We use southern pine
Our Hives are constructed of 100% southern pine which makes them very durable to the southern climate. The outside of the boxes can be painted or waxed. Keeping water off the wood will help keep the wood in great shape.
Currently, we are only shipping the short kits. We have been unable to lacate a shipper that will reasonably, ship the larger side boards.

We are presently obtaining the lumber for the side boards from Home Depot but, other lumber supplies should also carry the wood as well. Here is a link to the wood we use for side boards (item# 185435000884). Click here. Our end boards have slots cut in 1/4' inch deep, for the side board placement, making assymbly a very easy process.
Our end boards make it easy to build a hive box! Everything is lined up for you with the end boards. Holes are drilled into the end boards for the attachement screws. We use *8 x 1 1/2" stainless steel, truss head, wood screws for the 24" and 36" hive boxes and #8 x 2" screws for the 48" hive box. Line up the side boards into the slots, pre-drill the side boards with 7/32" drill bit and start screwing the side boards into the slots.

Coming soon!

Awnings for the entry holes.

We are hoping to have several different styles to choose from.
